Mobile Banking App updates you need to know about


Our Mobile App has underwent an update to make them easier to use and more secure for you. Take a look at what’s new, including some changes specific to Android and iOS devices.

Easy Transfers to Other Members

Imagine that your daughter away at college just texted; she needs money ­– fast – for car repairs. What do you do? Simply open the Consumers app on your mobile device and make a transfer to her Consumers account. That’s just one of the updates to our mobile app that make banking easier for you.

Before you can make swift transfers like this to other members, you’ll need to set them up as a Recipient and provide the other member’s account information. (Recipients you set up on the app will show up on Online Banking, too!)

Customized Push Notifications

To stay on top of your account activity in real time, you can customize push notices we send through the app. Want to know if your checking account balance goes below $200 or even $79? Go to Settings to turn on an alert at the amount you want. You can get alerts for Low Balance, High Balance, Balance Updates, Large Withdrawals, and Large Deposits. These notifications are particularly useful if you share joint accounts or need to stay on top of business banking activity.

Remember, you can change or turn off push notifications any time by going to Settings on your device.

In-app Username and Password Recovery

With all the usernames and passwords we use each day, it’s no surprise when we forget one. The Consumers banking app now lets you recover login credentials on the spot. No calling our office. No need to go online.

If you need your username, we’ll ask for an email address. As long as the email address you provide matches one you have on file in our system, we’ll send an email with your user name right away. It may take a few minutes for the message to arrive.

To recover your password, you’ll need to provide the mobile phone number associated with your account. You’ll receive a text with a temporary password that you can change to anything you’d like once you’re logged back into the app.

Android Fingerprint ID

Logging into the Consumers Android app is easier than ever with fingerprint ID because you don’t have to type in a username and password. Any member with an Android device that supports fingerprint scanning and running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system can use fingerprint ID.

You can set up fingerprint ID when logging into the Android app for the first time. If you opt not to turn on fingerprint ID right away, you can always do it later by going to Settings. The app will walk you through the steps to registering your fingerprint for quick and easy access to mobile banking.

Split Screen Views on iPads

Take advantage of your bigger iPad screen with split screen multitasking that allows you to run two apps at the same time side by side. (We wish more apps did this!)

To bring up another app while using Consumers mobile banking, drag the black vertical divider to resize the portion of the screen the app is using. This will bring up a list of apps that support multi-tasking. Simply select the app you want to use side-by side.

Touch ID Enhancement on iOS

As part of iOS 9, Apple offered greater security by detecting if a set of fingerprints on a device has changed since Touch ID was set up by the app. If Touch ID fingerprints are added to your device, the next time you log in to the app you will be asked to enter your username and password. This helps keep your data secure in case someone knows the PIN of your device and adds their fingerprints to Touch ID. The additional log in is a small price to pay to keep your account banking information safe!

3D Touch on iPhone 6S & 6S Plus

If you use an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus you will like this new feature! 3D Touch lets you select from Quick Actions when you press on the app icon and takes you immediately to your destination once logged in. You can also use 3D Touch to Peek and Pop on transactions without leaving the account page as well as RDC (Remote Deposit Capture) History.
