Kalamazoo, MICH — Consumers Credit Union is pleased to announce the addition of EllenGrace Hauenstein as a mortgage loan officer in the Grand Rapids market.

Specifically, Hauenstein will be based at the newly opened 54^th Street location in Wyoming, where the Grand Valley State graduate is eager to start engaging with members.

“As a psychology major, I learned how to read people and situations,” she said. “I absolutely love networking and helping people get into their dream home or save money by refinancing.”

Hauenstein is a self-starter and former business owner who opened and managed a cake decorating business before starting a career in the mortgage industry as first a loan processor and now loan officer.

She becomes the latest new hire of a group of two dozen mortgage lenders at the credit union, who are on pace to close nearly 2,400 loans this year for members, including refinances. The record growth is accompanied by fast service, as nearly all loans originated in 2020 at Consumers have been cleared to close within 30 days through the credit union’s #FastApp Home Loan application.
