As a business development manager, Scott Petersen’s unique background in sales and banking gives him the tools to create everlasting business relationships at Consumers.
“I have been in sales for 25 years—always in a B2B capacity,” he says, “and have spent more than 14 years in the banking industry, where I’ve had numerous experiences.”
In fact, Scott spent the last several years in Chicago, where he ran a commercial loan brokerage that worked with companies, including medical, that were unable to secure financing through traditional channels.
Along with his position at Consumers, Scott is part of several professional affiliations and serves in different roles.
“Currently, I’m a Rotarian with the Kalamazoo Rotary,” he says. “I also sit on the executive committee for SCORE as the second vice-chair, and serve as a mentor as well.
“In the past, I was even a Master Mason with the Schoolcraft Masonic Lodge #118.”
Scott loves creating the best outcomes for businesses and gives great member service at the same time.
“I thoroughly enjoy the relationships that I build with members,” he says. “It’s important they see me as a trusted advisor and know I always have their best interests in mind.
“I will never put a member in a position where they can be hurt by a product or service that I’ve recommended. For me, these relationships are like long-term friendships, rather than transactional.”
