Consumers Credit Union Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at Saugatuck/Douglas Office
Kalamazoo, Mich. — Consumers celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new Saugatuck/Douglas office on Wednesday, October 7, at 312 South Ferry Street in Douglas. The event welcomed community members and local leaders, with treats provided by Crane’s Pie Pantry and a visit from Brewster, Consumers’ root beer mascot.
Office Manager Molly Phan welcomed guests before remarks from Douglas Councilman Jeff West and Consumers President and CEO Scott Sylvester, who led the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Vice President of the Lakeshore Market Michele Chaney closed the program before guests networked.
“The Lakeshore has always been an important part of who we are, and Douglas is a natural step in deepening that connection,” said Sylvester. “We want members to have access to great service close to home, whether they’re here year-round or just for the season.”
Phan added, “This community has a real sense of place, and I’m excited for our team to be a part of it. We’re here to build relationships and be the kind of financial partner people actually look forward to working with.”
West noted the new office reflects the kind of community investment that strengthens the area’s opportunities to build relationships, support local businesses and help residents reach their goals.
The Saugatuck/Douglas office spans approximately 1,200 square feet and offers a full range of financial services, including personal checking and savings, credit cards, mortgages, full-service lending, investments and financial education. The location features TellerPlus+ technology in both the lobby and drive-thru lane, a complimentary coffee bar, wireless banking stations with Wi-Fi and dedicated spaces for loan and member services.
The new office brings Consumers’ Lakeshore presence to eight locations, running from South Haven through Saugatuck and up through Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon.
Partners on the project included Bosch Architecture and GDK.
