Kalamazoo, MICH — Consumers Credit Union has named Josh Summerfield as vice president of mortgages and has added two mortgage loan officers to the Consumers team, Jim Gioia and Will Baranyai.

Josh Summerfield has been newly appointed to the vice president of mortgage role after spending the last five years in a mortgage sales leadership position, helping to guide double-digit annual growth. Summerfield joined Consumers in 2015 as the first loan officer in Grand Rapids after nearly 20 years’ experience serving customers and leading colleagues at other financial institutions.

“I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to serve the credit union and our members,” says Summerfield. “My goal is to deliver great customer service with our homeownership solutions and be a strong and reliable business partner.”

Will Baranyai brings over 35 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer. He has worked in every facet of the mortgage industry during his career and is passionate about educating members. Baranyai will serve the Lansing market out of the Cedar Street office.

“I find it rewarding to help our members navigate their home buying experience and finding solutions to help them achieve their goals and needs,” says Baranyai.

Consumers Mortgage Loan Officer Jim Gioia will also serve the Lansing market out of the Delta Crossing office. Jim’s professional background and expertise in finance makes him especially effective in providing understanding, knowledge and guidance to help members achieve financial wellbeing.

“My profession provides me such a great opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of people. I enjoy having meaningful conversations, where I can learn and understand their situation and what they really want to accomplish,” says Gioia.

Last year, Marketrac Reports showed that Consumers moved to number one in market share in Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties and top ten in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties.
