Consumers Credit Union Welcomes Several New Employees and Promotes First Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator

Kalamazoo, MICH — Consumers Credit Union has added its first diversity, equity and inclusion coordinator, Fatimah Gilani, in addition to naming a dedicated Spanish-speaking mortgage loan officer Yesica Duran, Creative Manager Pete Van Regenmorter and an office manager to Consumers’ Lansing-based office, Keith Wright.

This year the credit union appointed its first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator Fatimah Gilani. She previously worked in the Consumers member service center. As part of her new role, Gilani will advocate on behalf of sustainable, equitable improvements to benefit the credit union, our employees and our members.

Consumers Mortgage Loan Officer Yesica Duran, NMLS# 1158741, strives to help as many people achieve their homeownership dreams as she possibly can.

Fluent in Spanish as well as English, Duran is passionate about bringing her wealth of knowledge from more than 10 years of experience in the financial industry to work so she can guide, support and advocate on behalf of the people within Michigan’s Hispanic and Latinx communities.

“For many people, buying a home is one of the biggest purchases they will make during their lives,” explained Duran. “I’m so glad to be part of the process of ensuring this little piece of their ‘American Dream’ is as seamless as it can be.”

Since graduating from Calvin College, Van Regenmorter has held many titles, most recently president and owner of Captivation Capital, a Holland-based marketing agency.

“I’m really looking forward to applying my skills and experience in my new role with Consumers,” said Van Regenmorter. “It’s such an energetic team atmosphere here at Consumers — a great environment to develop compelling marketing that will positively portray the Consumers Credit Union difference.”

Consumers Office Manager Keith Wright smiles for the camera.Consumers’ newest office manager, Keith Wright, will lead and develop a team to provide high-quality service from the Delta Crossing office in Lansing, which is scheduled to open this fall.

“Consumers is a credit union that focuses on the needs of its members and community,” said Wright. “I’m excited to put my 21 years of knowledge and experience to work finding individualized solutions for our members.”

Wright currently serves as treasurer for the Grand Ledge Area Chamber of Commerce and financial officer for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps’ Lansing-based unit. Additionally, he is an active member of the Friends of the Grand Ledge Area Chamber of Commerce and the local Business Networking International chapter.
