Consumers receives National Best and Brightest recognitions
The National Association for Business Resources has named the Best and Brightest Companies To Work For® in the Nation, and Consumers Credit Union is honored to have been acknowledged again on the list—this time as the 2017 Elite Winner for Strategic Company Performance. The Credit Union was also recognized for the first time as a Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® winner, an accolade given to organizations that celebrate quality and excellence in employee and worksite health.
The 2017 winning companies on the Best and Brightest To Work For list were assessed by an independent research firm, which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners, such as compensation; engagement and retention; and work-life balance. The Wellness entries were examined statistically for quantitative data and examined on a point system based upon criteria to benchmark and improve wellness program effectiveness. They include outcomes, analysis and tracking, participation and incentives, benefits and programs, leadership, employee input, culture and environment.
“We know that our credit union succeeds when our employees succeed,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Shawn Premer. “By providing holistic programs and resources for improved wellness and a better work life, we increase the engagement and overall happiness of our employees.”
This belief that satisfied, engaged employees provide the best service to members is central to the values Consumers champions throughout the organization.
This is the fifth year in a row Consumers has been awarded a Best and Brightest Award at the national level, though the company regularly receives recognition for its wellness, training and HR programs across West Michigan.
