Consumers Credit Union is committed to supporting a thriving planet for future generations. That’s why we formed a committee of Consumers employees focused on sustainability to implement eco-conscious practices across our company. One of our latest successes? Switching our credit and debit card materials to Earthwise™ Recycled Polyvinyl Chloride (rPVC).

Earthwise™ uses approximately 85% upcycled content in their cards, diverting plastic waste from landfills. By making the switch to these earth-friendly cards, we are reducing our reliance on newly produced plastics. In addition to switching to more sustainable card materials, we have also implemented changes to reduce energy waste from our lights and digital signage displays, limiting the total amount of run time per day.

Sustainability is important to us, both for the environment and our members. Initiatives like using Earthwise upcycled cards demonstrate our commitment to reducing our eco footprint. At Consumers, we have a responsibility to consider our impact and make choices that support a livable planet long into the future. Our switch to upcycled cards is just one step among many designed to honor that objective.
