We love helping our members get a fresh start! That’s why Consumers Credit Union recently gave away $50,000 in total cash prizes to help make home project dreams come true as part of the Fresh Start Home Sweepstakes.

This year, Consumers awarded $10k, $15k and $25k cash prizes to three lucky, randomly selected winners: Tim Matyasi, Keith Green and Patti Gibson.

Absolutely floored for $10K

Tim, winner of the $10,000 award, has been a member since 2016 and frequently banks at the Consumers Washington office in Holland. He and his wife are looking forward to using their winnings on projects around the house.

“We are definitely excited,” beamed Tim. “We’re going to do some home improvements, possibly the floor and central air.”

 

 

 

$15k goes to the dogs

The $15,000 prize was awarded to Keith, a seven-year member whose wife helped him enter the sweepstakes. The family plans to use the additional cash to help fund a safe space for their dog to play.

“I’m planning to put in a fence around my house for my dog, and they’re not cheap,” explained Keith.

 

 

 

15-year member wins $25k

Patti has been a member with Consumers since 2008. After 15 years of regularly banking at our Coldwater office, she was presented with the Fresh Start Home Sweepstakes grand prize – $25,000! Patti plans to use her winnings to free up her cash flow.

“I’m so excited. I never win anything,” explained Patti. “I’m going to put this money toward my emergency savings and pay down some debt – so, thank you!”

“We’ve seen the cost of home improvements rise this year which make our sweepstakes even more meaningful to our members,” said Consumers President & CEO Kit Snyder. “Consumers loves helping member improve their financial lives and Fresh Start is such a fun way to do that.”

Eligible to members and non-members, there were three ways to enter the sweepstakes: automatic enrollment when a mortgage, home equity loan or home equity line of credit was applied for through Consumers; a mail-in form was completed; or an online form was submitted.

If you weren’t a winner, but you could use a little help freshening up your home, with a Consumers home equity loan or home equity line of credit (HELOC), you can get access to cash when you need it at a great, competitive rate.
