About Matt

Matt Eldred is committed to helping members make the decision to purchase a home and achieve their financial goals and dreams. With 24 years of experience in the mortgage industry, including seven as a producing manager, Matt has helped over 3,000 families realize their dreams of homeownership. His extensive experience, especially with VA loans, and education have equipped him with the ability to adapt to changes in the industry and work effectively with a diverse range of people.

“I find great satisfaction in seeing a member achieve their dreams of homeownership,” says Matt. “Knowing that I made a difference in their lives, whether they are a first-time home buyer or purchasing their forever home, always brings me joy.

“It’s deeply rewarding for me in particular to serve veterans. I have a lot of family members and friends who have served in the armed forces, and I consider it an honor to be able to assist them on their homebuying journey.”

Matt graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, double majoring in finance and marketing. When he’s not helping members with their mortgage needs, Matt loves to cook and play golf. He also enjoys spending time with his family and watching his children grow up. A former college baseball catcher for GVSU, Matt brings the same dedication and team spirit to his work at Consumers.
