Consumers receives national Best and Brightest nods in wellness and company to work for
Recently we received word that Consumers was one of 183 organizations to receive National Best and Brightest Company to Work For® status—chosen from over 1,700 nominations across the country. This comes on top of an announcement in February of this year that we were named a 2019 Nation’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® winner and local recognition in May as a 2020 West Michigan Best and Brightest Company to Work For® Elite winner.
“Through the first half of 2020, the Best and Brightest Companies To Work For have demonstrated leadership and forward thinking as they pivoted their business and workforce through COVID-19,” said Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO Best and Brightest Programs, in a press release.
“[…] It is in these unique times, the Best and Brightest Companies To Work For excel and share their knowledge with others.”
Consumers has openly shared company best practices and return to work plans with partners in the business community and continues to seek feedback and implement new procedures to support staff during this time—even continuing wellness engagement through an app and holding virtual, staff-led exercise classes.
“We have been committed to helping our employees throughout #StayHome #StaySafe by allowing flexible scheduling, remote work and now safe reopening precautions over the past weeks,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Shawn Premer. “Listening and responding to our employees’ needs, including mental health and wellness, has been critical in maintaining the positive, servant-based culture Consumers is known and recognized for.”
