Consumers Welcomes New Retail Managers and a Mortgage Loan Officer to Assist More Members
Kalamazoo, MICH — Consumers Credit Union is pleased to announce the addition of Matthew Dygert as manager of its Downtown Kalamazoo and Corner@Drake offices, Kate Skinner as the newest mortgage loan officer and Vanessa Zech who will manage the TellerPlus+ team.
Matthew Dygert credits his motivator-style management techniques to the many great people he has worked with during his 20 years’ experience working in financial institutions.
“I strive to be the person that others look to for advice, knowing that even if I don’t have the answer, I will always help them find it,” explained Dygert. “I hope members know that when they refer someone or a business to me that I will always be their advocate and do what is best for them.”
Kate Skinner will assist members with mortgages in the Lakeshore region from the South Haven office.
With many successful years of experience learning and working with mortgages, Skinner credits her success to the hard-working way she was raised.
“Assisting our members along the path to homeownership is hard work that brings me joy,” explained Skinner. “Guided by the principles that I learned growing up on a farm in Fennville, I love to put my experiences to use in a way that helps others.”
Skinner joins a group of more than two dozen mortgage lenders at the credit union, which grew mortgage originations in 2020 to an all-time high of over $500 million. The record growth was accompanied by fast service, too, as nearly all loans originated at Consumers were cleared to close under 30 days through the credit union’s #FastApp Home Loan application.
Vanessa Zech has worked in many different capacities during her 11 years’ experience in banking, but her latest venture will find her leading the TellerPlus+ team to provide outstanding service to Consumers members, guided by her own special touch – human connection.
“I always want to act with kindness and show how much I care about what I do,” said Zech. “I enjoy the ability to build relationships and connect with members on a personal level.”
