Kalamazoo, MICH — Consumers Credit Union is excited to welcome our three newest mortgage loan officers who will assist members of the Grand Rapids market: Vanna Stevens, Kail Venema and Michael Massa.

Vanna Stevens smiles for the camera. After several years working in the customer service industry, Vanna Stevens, NMLS# 2215641, started her career at Consumers in 2020 as a member service representative. Through her experiences in that role and with some mentorship from close colleagues, Stevens quickly realized her passion for home equity loans and mortgages.

As part of her role, Stevens will assist Consumers members at our Cascade office in the Grand Rapids market as they navigate the home loan process, working to make the experience as seamless as possible.

“I’m so happy every time I can put my unique skillset to work for our members,” said Stevens. “I am eager to lift up, educate and inspire others to reach their goal of becoming a homeowner.”

Kail Venema smiles for the camera.

During his years of experience in the banking and insurance industries, Kail Venema, NMLS# 1728871, has realized that every home financing experience should be as equally unique as the people and houses they are buying.

Throughout his professional career, Venema has lived by the motto “figure it out”—one he refers to every day as he works to help people in the Grand Rapids and Holland markets navigate the homebuying process.

“The tumultuous housing market of the last few years has helped me become very good at helping people with unique loans,” said Venema. “If there is ever a situation where I’m unsure how to proceed, I make it my mission to learn all that I can to make the process as smooth as possible.”

Michael Massa smiles for the camera.

Seasoned Mortgage Loan Officer Michael Massa, NMLS# 2104976, is eager to get to know members around our Grand Rapids Walker office to fully understand their needs, expectations and concerns so he can effectively educate and guide them along the path to homeownership.

According to Massa, continuous communication with clients is key to keeping them informed throughout the mortgage process and quickly offering guidance to resolve any concerns to get to a smooth closing.

“Purchasing a home can seem like an overwhelming and daunting task,” said Massa. “When you’re working with me to finance your home, I’m going to make sure that you feel at ease throughout the entire process.”
