As fraudulent calls become harder to detect, Consumers is enhancing call security with integrated protection and branded calling features to help keep our members safe.

What this means for you

When someone from the credit union calls, you’ll see our name clearly displayed, along with our logo, on supported devices1. This makes it easy to recognize that the call is legitimate. Android and Apple mockups of Consumers call screening identification

At the same time, spoofed calls pretending to be from Consumers will be blocked before they ever reach your mobile phone, helping ensure that only authenticated calls come through with our name and branding.

This enhancement improves both your security and your experience:

  • Stronger fraud protection
Calls posing as Consumers are actively blocked.
  • Clear identification
You can confidently answer calls knowing who is contacting you.
  • Better member experience
Important calls about your accounts, loans or services are easier to recognize.
  • Brand protection
Our name and identity can’t be misused by scammers.
  • Smarter communication
Improved insights help us serve you more effectively without added complexity.
What phone fraud should you still watch out for?

Even with these protections in place, it is important to stay cautious. Remember, Consumers will never:

  • Ask for your Online Banking passwords or passcodes.
  • Request your full account or card numbers.
  • Ask you to move money to another account.
  • Pressure you or threaten you over the phone.
