Consumers is celebrating a major milestone. In 2026, we proudly mark 75 years of serving our members, supporting our communities and helping people achieve their financial goals with confidence. Since our founding in 1951 by 49 Consumers Power Company employees, we have grown into one of the region’s most trusted and forward-thinking credit unions.

From offering our first savings accounts and loans in the 1950s, to pioneering digital banking tools in the 1990s and 2000s, to expanding across West Michigan in the 2020s, our history is defined by one thing—putting members first.

To celebrate 75 years of exceptional service, growth and community impact, we are launching a full year of giveaways and member fun throughout 2026. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of our story.
