Finding ways to attract and retain top talent is crucial for the success and growth of your company. In today’s competitive job market, employees are looking for more than just a paycheck—they want benefits that work for them. That’s where Consumers @Work program can help set a company apart—by providing financial wellness programs tailored specifically for a company’s workforce and top-notch service.

The initial goal when the program was developed in the 2010s was to increase employees’ financial awareness. But we came to realize that with a direct, hands-on and simple approach, we could provide education from the very first day of employment and teach employees how to manage their paycheck and make it work for them.

Why partner with Consumers @Work

Since talent attraction and retention is so important, partnering with Consumers @Work demonstrates to current and prospective employees of your business that you care about their overall well-being, not just their productivity.

From basic banking to loans and credit cards, the @Work program offers convenient options to help employees manage their finances and reduce stress. Educational seminars also boost financial literacy and foster long-term planning and savings. Plus, a new perk will be offered for our partners soon—access to an app that provides educational tools to help boost employees’ financial literacy as well as an outlet to contact representatives about questions.

Not only will partnering with Consumers @Work boost employee satisfaction and retention, it can also provide tangible benefits for your business’s bottom line. (And did we mention it’s complimentary?)

“HR professionals are so busy. This is just one little cog of what they have to deal with and I know it’s important to them,” said Business Engagement Manager Ann Callahan. “So, if there’s any way that we can take that pressure off and just set up a blueprint for financial wellness … then we can take it from there.”

Serving employers across West Michigan

While most of @Work’s current partners are in Kalamazoo, the team has been working to grow opportunities in other markets. One of the most recent and notable partnerships has been with Mary Free Bed. After fostering a relationship with the Chief of Human Resources and Total Rewards Director, our team has stepped up and been present for each new hire orientation as well as resource tables for current staff. This allows time for our representative to hand out materials, discuss the benefits of being a member of Consumers and gives the employees an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

“It’s been extremely rewarding building relationships with the staff,” said Kenzie Scimeca, @Work representative. “I think if you asked any of us, we would all agree it’s much more than banking services we are providing.”

If you’d like to bring a financial wellness program to your organization, contact a representative from Consumers @Work to discuss setting up customized programs for your unique company needs. From streamlining payroll to financial wellness seminars, their solutions are designed with both employers and employees in mind. Partnering with Consumers demonstrates you care about your employees’ well-being and that investment in your workforce will pay dividends for your business’s success.
