Consumers’ partner Young Money Finances is ready to empower teens between the ages of 11-17 years old through the innovative Young Money Finances Summer Camps where they’ll discover important financial and business skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.

Each camp is based in Grand Rapids and led by a team of highly engaging financial and business facilitators, providing participants with valuable insights and tools that can be applied to their everyday lives. Additionally, each participant will receive a Money Manager Kit filled with the tools and resources necessary to engage with the program.

Young Money Managers Camp

Managing money is 20% numbers and 80% behaviors. Teens will learn the basic principles to save, create real financial goals, make healthy decisions and build wealth. The Young Money Managers Camp will conclude with each participant having clear financial goals and an action plan to accomplish them.

Young Money Entrepreneur Camp

Entrepreneurship is a form of ownership and leadership. During the Young Money Entrepreneur Camp, teens will discover the basic concepts of business management, financial sustainability and become familiar with the essentials of great leadership. Students will leave this program with a business concept, blueprint and a chance to pitch their business idea to their peers and the community during the Young Money Young Minds Pitch Event.

Young Money Investors Camp

Gain practical experience in investing with the Young Money Investors Camp. Participants will learn how to make informed investment decisions and explore the stock the market. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a stipend to invest in their future.

“The Young Money Finances Camps are designed to empower youth and families to take control of their future,” said Dondrea Brown, Young Money Finances executive director. “When people, especially teens, are able to understand the world of finance in a hands-on, engaging way, they are better prepared for a lifetime of healthy financial decision-making.”
