That’s why when Mark Allen approached Consumers with a dream of business ownership, we were happy to help him realize his vision with the creation of Allen Partners in 2015. Today, the fab shop manufactures low- to high-volume production parts, hoppers, bins, and other containers and custom fabrication for the ag and industrial markets—in addition to cellulose blowing machines for insulation.

Allen Partners is a great example of Consumers’ Business Services at its best. They are a locally owned and growing manufacturing company with equipment and real estate needs. Consumers provided the lending, business checking and business credit cards, Online Banking and retirement accounts to accommodate them.

One key advantage Consumers offers is the ability to develop innovative custom solutions. For Allen Partners, the loans to acquire two businesses and buildings were structured to help avoid interest rate risk and future costs associated with refinancing.

“Consumers offered the best fit for my needs,” Mark explained. “They have been great to work with at all levels of the organization.”

In 2016, Mark purchased a third manufacturing company in Otsego again with Consumers by his side. Mark and Consumers collaborated to shape the best deal for Allen Partners.

“When I came to Consumers with the second deal, they were really supportive of our strategy,” Mark said. “I’m happy to have Consumers as a partner.”

Together the three Allen Partners facilities cover more than 48,000 square feet of manufacturing space, allowing the full-service custom fab shop to offer everything from design conception to private labeling and shipping.
