Consumers takes home multiple awards for wellness program

Consumers Credit Union has been honored with two prestigious awards for its Wellness Program: the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America Award and the 101 Best & Brightest in Wellness Award.

On September 26, 2016, before 3,000 attendees from over 100 countries, Consumers was awarded The Healthiest 100 Award during the 8th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress in Washington, D.C. This award is the highest, most-coveted distinction in the corporate wellness industry, with only 100 companies in the US earning such designation each year.

Healthiest 100 Award 2016 WinnerThe Healthiest 100 Award is presented by the Healthiest Employer Award Program and is scored on six critical elements of workplace wellness: culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, annual planning, communications and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.

For the fifth year in a row, Consumers Credit Union was named one of “Michigan’s Best and Brightest in WellnessTM” by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA)! This award celebrates and recognizes organizations’ quality and excellence in health and wellness.

2016 101 Best & Brightest in Wellness WinnerWinners were evaluated with the WellCompanies assessment, created and administered by Wellco. This year’s winners represent many industries, and were honored on Tuesday, October 20 at a breakfast celebration in The Henry Autograph Collection Hotel in Dearborn. Stefanie Whitlatch, Member Service Representative at Consumers Credit Union and chair person of its’ wellness committee, presented at a panel during the awards program.

Consumers’ robust wellness program includes subsidized gym memberships for employees, a supply of fruit and healthy snacks in break rooms, outstanding health insurance, and private sessions with wellness coaches for all employees, in addition to incentives for establishing healthy habits and completing a biometric screening.
